Welcome to Emerald City Icons!

In the wake of the Silver Storm and the attacks both by villains and a giant robot, Emerald City is left shaken and forever changed. The facade of normalcy has been ripped away and the citizens now need to cope with their home suddenly becoming a hub for superhuman activity. The people are in need of heroes and role models to protect them and guide the new superhumans. Will you answer the call and make a mark on this world? Can you write a new chapter in the story of this city? Do you have what it takes to be an ICON?

Emerald City Icons is a living world/west marches campaign using Mutants and Masterminds 3E taking place in Emerald City within the Earth Prime Campaign Setting published by Green Ronin Publishing. The characters are alive, the secret identity is as much a part of the character as the costumed identity. While much of the action takes place while the characters are in costume, most of the roleplay and discussion of adventures (Missions or Issues) take place while out of costume. (Examples of this are the Arrowverse television shows “The Flash” and “Arrow”) Consequences for player action carry weight during and after adventures.

There are two levels of play currently in Emerald City Icons: PL 8 and PL 10

PL 8 consists of the adventures and daily life of the students of the Arcadian Academy, a school founded after the Silver Storm to give teenagers with powers (both from the Storm and other sources) a place to learn both core academia and how to control and use their powers. The school has a vetting process to determine if the personality and powers of the student and the school will be a good fit. Unknown to the majority of the school is that the residents in the C and D dorms are part of a hero team known as the Vanguard. The members of the Vanguard were chosen for their personalities, powers, and ethics. The team is secretly sponsored by the Sentinels, who knew that sooner or later teenagers with powers would want to do some good in the world and would be in need of guidance and support.

The other option is the PL 10 adult superheroes known as the Sentinels. Formed after the Silver Storm the Sentinels have become the city’s champions having fended off threats like the Chessmen, FOE, and Tellax himself, the robot ultimately responsible for the Silver Storm.
